Times Union, NOTICE TO BIDDERS SUNY Stony Brook Proposal 15/16-024MC Title: ESS 2nd Floor Mechanical Renovations- Stony Brook University The State University of New York at Stony Brook is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide all labor, material, equipment and services to renovate the mechanical systems on the second floor of the Earth Space science building on the West Campus of Stony Brook University. One set of drawings and specifications, including Project Manual, may be picked up beginning 7/15/2015 at Campus Planning, Design and Construction, Stony Brook University, Research & Development Park, Building #17, Suite #160, Stony Brook, NY 11794-6010 between the hours of 8:30am -4:00pm Section 143 of the State Finance Law requires payment of a deposit to receive these documents. Accordingly, a non-refundable deposit check in the amount $49.00 made payable to: IFR Account 910635-00-00 is required. Bidding and Contract documents may be examined free of charge at the Campus Planning, Design and Construction office. SUNY construction experience is preferred. Contractor must provide references of having participated in at least three Federal, State, County or Municipal Government Construction of similar or greater scope in the last five years with submission. Article 15A minority utilization report, 100 percent performance bond and labor and material bonds will be required. Contractor must pay prevailing wage rates for Suffolk County, New York. There will be a one-time, single mandatory site visit for perspective bidders to be held 7/29/2015 at 10:00am at Campus Planning, Design and Construction, Stony Brook University, Research & Development Park, Building #17, Suite #160, Stony Brook, N.Y. Only those contractors who attend this site visit will be eligible to bid on this project. Anticipated bid date for this project is 8/14/2015. Bids must be submitted in duplicate in accordance with instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. The bidder must submit with its bid a separate sealed list that names each subcontractor that the bidder will use to perform work on the contract, and the agreed-upon amount to be paid to each for the different trades. Security will be required for each bid in the amount not less than five (5) percent of the total bid. In accordance with Article 15-A of the Executive Law, all bidders are expected to make good faith efforts to meet the established M/WBE-EEO goals for this project.
