Times Union, SIGN REVIEW BOARD VILLAGE OF COLONIE PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE is hereby given that a public hearing will be held before the SIGN REVIEW BOARD of the Village of Colonie with respect to the following matter at the time and place set forth below: TIME & PLACE: Thursday - 7:00 p.m. July 23, 2015 Village Hall 2 Thunder Road Albany, NY 12205 APPLICANT: Cole's Collision Center 1517 Central Avenue Albany, NY 12205 The first purposed sign application for the Cole's Collision Center located at 1517 Central Ave. is for a freestanding sign with a static sign at 35 square feet and a digital sign at of 25.675 square feet with an overall height of 10 ft. 1.77 in. above the ground level and is approximately 28 feet from the street. The second purposed sign application for the Cole's Collision Center located at 1517 Central Ave. is for a static wall sign with a total of 39.375 square feet on the front of the building which is located approximately 69 feet from the street. The sign applications for the above mentioned property has been denied due to the following conditions; 1. Section 181, Attachment 1, Chart A; The maximum allowable square footage area per sign is 32 square feet with a maximum overall height of 6 ft. 2. Section 181-13.A. Any illumination sign or lighting device shall employ only light emitting a light of constant intensity, and no sign shall be illuminated by or contain a flashing, intermitted or moving light or lights. In no event shall an illuminated sign or lighting device be so placed or directed as to permit the beams and illumination therefrom to be directed or beamed upon a public street, highway, sidewalk or adjacent premises so as to cause glare or reflection that may constitute a traffic hazard or nuisance. 3. 181-8.A.(1)(b) More than 50 feet but less than 75 feet from the street line that shall be considered to be the front line of the subject parcel, will be granted, at the option of the applicant, a permit for either one sign attached to the building or one freestanding sign, as defined in this chapter. All persons affected by the proposed variance will be given an opportunity to be heard.
