Hearst Media Services, Legal Notice Taxpayers of The Nichols Fire District The annual one-time fire tax levied on taxpayers of the Nichols Fire District is due JULY 1, 2015 and payable without penalty throughout the month of July. Said tax is based on the assessed value of real and personal property in this District at a rate of of 1.071 mills, adopted at the Annual Meeting of the Fire District on May 19, 2015, on dollar assessments of October 1, 2014 and as recorded in the Grand List of the Town of Trumbull. Motor Vehicles are not taxed by the Nichols Fire District. Failure to receive your Fire Tax Bill does NOT exempt you from payment of these taxes or penalties. The Fire Tax Collector will accept payments according to the conditions stated on each bill: By US mail sent to P.O. Box 28, Trumbull, CT. 06611 In person, Saturday mornings-9:00 AM. To Noon on July 11, 18, 25 only at Nichols Fire House, Station One 100 Shelton Road, Trumbull, CT. Checks are payable to the: Nichols Fire Tax Collector For receipts, submit the entire tax bill with your payment. If paid by mail, also enclose a stamped, self- addressed envelope. A legible postmark, if payment is mailed, or an in person payment made during July, establishes the date of payment. Late payments become subject to interest of 1.5% per month or any fraction of that month, retroactive to July 1, 2015, until the bill is paid in full. The statutory minimum interest charge is $2.00.
