Register Citizen, INVITATION TO BID The Canaan Fire District seeks separate sealed bids for one or both of the following two independent sidewalk projects in the Village of Canaan, Town of North Canaan CT: I. Ashley Falls Road and Prospect Streets: Remove approximately 146 lineal feet of existing sidewalk on the east side of Ashley Falls Road and approximately 32 lineal feet of existing sidewalk on the West side of Prospect Street and replace with new concrete sidewalks. II. Railroad Street: Remove the pair of steel loading doors and sub-frame now inset in the sidewalk abutting the office of the Housatonic Railroad on Railroad Street, and span and fill the opening with a new permanent concrete sidewalk. Plans and/or specifications for each of the above two projects will be available to prospective bidders either: (a) in person at the Office of William Minacci, Superintendent, at the Canaan Fire District’s Water Pollution Control Facility, 251 W. Main St. (North) Canaan, CT 06018 on and after 10:00 AM local time, Wednesday, July 22, 2015; or b) by email request sent to the Superintendent (cfdsupt@att.net) or to the Warden (ajn@ajnania.us) by a prospective bidder. All bidders are required to attend a field inspection of the work site(s) that will begin at 10:00 AM local time on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Superintendent’s Office. Failure to participate in the field inspections may result in bid disqualification. Prospective bidders must hand deliver their sealed bids to the aforesaid Superintendent’s Office on or before 10:00 AM local time Wednesday, August 12, 2015, after which time the bidding will be closed and timely bids will then and there be opened and read aloud. Please note that notwithstanding any other provision of this Invitation to Bid to the contrary, the Warden of the Canaan Fire District reserves the right, without cause shown: (a) to waive any informality or technical defect in either the Plans and/or Specifications or in any Bids; (b) to reject any non-conforming, non-responsive or conditional bids; or (c) to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part.
