Times Union, NEW YORK STATE OFFICE OF PARKS, RECREATION AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed bids for General Construction - Northeast Corner Adaptive Reuse Project at Sonnenberg Gardens State Historic Site, 151 Charlotte Street, Ontario County, Canandaigua, New York will be received by the New York Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP), Finger Lakes Region at 2221 Taughannock Park Road, Trumansburg, NY until 2:30 P.M. local time, August 20, 2015 when they will be publicly opened and read. Each bid must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and must be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of a certified check, bank check, or bid bond in the amount of $31,250 (Thirty-One Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars and No Cents). D004746 General Construction Northeast Corner Adaptive Reuse Project at Sonnenberg Gardens State Historic Site project involves the rehabilitation of an historic, National-Register listed property. Site work includes tree removal and grubbing; demolition of asphalt paving, concrete and minor structures; excavation and grading; new storm water systems; granite curbing; concrete, asphalt, bluestone and stone dust paving; wooden garden structures; ornamental steel fencing and gates; steel edging; top soil; landscape plantings; lawn restoration; site furnishings; signage; and road markings. Exterior building restoration includes: roofing demolition; abatement of Asbestos Containing Materials; cold fluid applied membrane roofing; gutters; sheet metal work; restoration and repair of reinforced concrete, stone masonry, cast stone, plaster, downspouts and woodwork; and micro-crack injection grouting. Interior building rehabilitation includes: select interior demolition; lead paint encapsulation; restoration of concrete, masonry, stucco, woodwork, windows, doors and ceiling finishes; structural additions including shear walls and steel framing; installation of acoustic tiles, casework, solid surface counters, plaster and ceramic tile; and painting. MINORITY AND WOMEN OWNED BUSINESS PARTICIPATION GOALS The following goals for the MWBE participation on this project have been established at: Minority Owned Business Enterprises (MBE) 13% Women Owned Business Enterprises (WBE) 17% PROJECT COMPLETION The completion date for this project is 290 days after agreement has been approved by the NYS Comptroller's Office. PROJECT SPECIFIC LIQUIDATED DAMAGES (Refer to Section 14.10 of General Conditions) Starting on the advertisement date, the Bidding and Contract Documents may be examined free of charge and obtained in person or by mail from Ronda Williamson at Finger Lakes State Parks, Regional Headquarters, 2221 Taughannock Park Road, Trumansburg, NY 14886 for a non-refundable fee of $49.00 (per set) and shipping and handling as applicable. Make checks payable to New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP). BONDS The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Bond in the statutory form of public bonds required by Sections 136 and 137 of the State Finance Law, each for 100% of the amount of the Contract. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) All RFI's are due by 12:00 p.m. on August 14, 2015. RFI's shall only be submitted to Peter Fry, Director's Representative. RFI's received after this date will not be processed. PRE-BID MEETING A scheduled Pre-Bid Site Meeting is not planned. However, prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to visit the job site to take field measurements and examine existing conditions. Site visits may be made by appointment only. Appointments may be made with David Hutchings, Director of Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion Historic Park, by calling David at 585-905-8572 (cell). Provide at least 24 hours' notice. Site visits will be limited to weekdays. Enter the site from the driveway at the corner of Fort Hill Road and East Street. Questions that arise as a result of site visits shall only be submitted to the Regional Capital Facilities Manager or the Director's Representative. Information received from Park staff about the Contract or project conditions shall not be construed as valid with regard to this contract. TU 1t (829235)
