Hearst Media Services, INVITATION TO BID Sealed Bids for: BID NO. 05-14-15-08, "Roof Replacement for Rogers Park Middle School, City Project No: 15-12 All will be received at Danbury City Hall, Purchasing Agent's office, 155 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury, CT 06810 until 10:00 A.M., July 7, 2015. Prior to the public opening of the bids, any bid submitted may be withdrawn by the bidder if said bidder discovers mathematical or clerical errors in his bid. Any such bid withdrawal may be made without penalty or prejudice. After the bids are opened, all offers will be considered firm for a period of ninety days and no bid may be withdrawn for any reason during that period except for such cause as the City of Danbury in its sole discretion deems sufficient. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on July 1, 2015 at 9:00 A.M. Bidders will meet at Rogers Park Middle School, 21 Memorial Drive, Danbury, CT 06810 and will meet at the Main Entrance. Work consists of all labor, tools, materials and equipment necessary to complete the "Roof Replacements" and related work and materials at each of the above Schools as defined by Specifications and individual Contract Drawings, packaged together. A bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid shall accompany each bid. A non-collusion statement for Prime Contractors and any addendum acknowledgment must also be submitted at the time of the bid. A performance, labor and materials bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the accepted bid will be required. This is a State assisted contract. The contractor must comply with the requirements as specified herein. Plans and specifications (Contract Documents) may be obtained at the Purchasing Agent's office, City Hall, 155 Deer Hill Avenue, Danbury, Connecticut 06810. Bidders may obtain complete sets of plans and specifications for a nonrefundable payment of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per set. Contractors whose bid exceeds $500,000 shall hold a current "DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate" (not a predetermination letter) from the Department of Administrative Services of the State of Connecticut according to C.G.S. 4a-100, C.G.S. 4b-101, and C.G.S. 4b-91. These bidders shall submit with their bids, unless noted otherwise, a "DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate" along with a current "Update (Bid) Statement". Any bid submitted without a copy of the DAS Prequalification Certificate and an Update (Bid) Statement shall be invalid. Contractors must be classified with DAS as "Roofing" with the appropriate aggregate. Additionally, any subcontractor working for a General Contractor whose work exceeds $500,000 must also be prequalified with the DAS as per C.G.S. 4b-9l (j).
