Delco Times, NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at the regularly-scheduled workshop meeting of the Millbourne Borough Council to be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Millbourne Borough Hall, 9 Park Avenue, Millbourne, PA 19082, at 5:00 PM, Council shall consider, and if appropriate, enact, an ordinance, the title of and a summary of which is as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF MILLBOURNE BOROUGH, DELAWARE COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF MILLBOURNE BOROUGH TO REQUIRE ANNUAL CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS AND BIENNIAL CHILD ABUSE CLEARANCE CHECKS FOR ALL BOROUGH EMPLOYEES AND VOLUNTEERS, INCLUDING POLICE OFFICERS AND VOLUNTEER FIRE FIGHTERS; PROVIDING FOR REMEDIES FOR NONCOMPLIANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS ORDINANCE AND REMEDIES FOR A REPORT REVEALING A CRIMINAL CONVICTION OR COMMISSION OF CHILD ABUSE; REPEALING ALL INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE The proposed ordinance requires all employees of Millbourne Borough, including police officers, and all volunteers of Millbourne Borough, including volunteer firefighters, to obtain a criminal background check every year, and a child abuse clearance check every-other-year, and submit those reports to Millbourne Borough. The ordinance provides penalties for failure to comply with the requirements of the ordinance, and remedies for the Borough if any of the reports shows criminal activity or child abuse.
