Hearst Media Services, LEGAL NOTICE CITY OF STAMFORD BOARD OF REPRESENTATIVES Notice is hereby given that the Land Use/Urban Redevelopment Committee of the Board of Representatives of the City of Stamford will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 7:30 p.m., in the Republican Caucus Room, 4th Floor, Government Center, 888 Washington Boulevard, Stamford, to consider the following proposed resolution approved for publication by the 29th Board of Representatives at its regular meeting on June 1, 2015. Anyone wishing to be heard is invited to attend and speak. Printed copies of the resolution are available for inspection in the offices of the City of Stamford Town & City Clerk, 1st Floor, Government Center, the offices of the Board of Representatives, 4th Floor, Government Center, 888 Washington Boulevard, Stamford, Connecticut or at www.boardofreps.org. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION BY NEGOTIATION OR EMINENT DOMAIN OF RIGHTS OF WAY FOR THE GREENWICH AVENUE @ SELLECK STREET & SOUTHFIELD AVENUE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, the City of Stamford has recognized that there is a need for the improvement of the Greenwich Avenue @ Selleck Street & Southfield Avenue intersection and adjacent rights-of-way and pedestrian sidewalks & crosswalks; and WHEREAS, the City has recognized that this intersection improvement and concurrent rights-of-way and pedestrian sidewalk improvement project will require a real property acquisition and/or permanent and temporary easements; and WHEREAS, after newspaper notice published in the local newspaper on January 12, 2005, the Traffic Engineering and Land Use Bureau conducted a Public Information Meeting on January 27, 2005; and after newspaper notice published in the local newspaper on April 12th and 22nd, 2015, the Traffic Engineering conducted a Public Information Meeting on April 30, 2015 to explain The Greenwich Avenue @ Selleck Street & Southfield Avenue Intersection Improvement Project (the "Project") and the impact upon adjacent properties; and WHEREAS, the Traffic Engineering Division has preliminarily identified the real property required for the Project; and WHEREAS, the Board of Representatives has held a public hearing on ______, after publication in the local newspaper on ______, to authorize the acquisition or condemnation of the parcels necessary for the Project. NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Representatives hereby declares pursuant to Charter Sections 1-50-1 and 8-60-1 and 8-60-3 that the public necessity, safety, health and welfare require that The Greenwich Avenue @ Selleck Street & Southfield Avenue Intersection Improvement Project go forward; and THAT the Mayor, Office of Operations and Director of Administration are hereby instructed to prepare a report pursuant to Charter Sections 8-60-3, 8-60-4 and 8-60-5; and THAT such report include engineering, surveys, plans, profiles, specifications, cost estimates, estimates of the value of any land proposed to be taken and the amount of damages which should be assessed in favor of each piece of property proposed to be taken; and THAT such report shall be filed for public inspection, mailed to all interested persons and that all interested persons be provided with notice of a time and place to be heard in respect to the price of any land proposed to be taken or acquired or in respect to the assessment of damages; and THAT the Director of Administration shall make a final report to the Board of Representatives pursuant to Charter Sec. 8-60-5 concerning the amounts that should be paid for each of the properties and the cost of The Greenwich Avenue @ Selleck Street & Southfield Avenue Intersection Improvement Project.
