Heritage Newspapers, CITY OF WOODHAVEN INVITATION TO BID Residential Solid Waste Collection and Disposal, Yard Waste Collection and Disposal, and Curb Side Recycling Service Bids will be received by the City Clerk of the City of Woodhaven at 21869 West Road, Woodhaven, Michigan until 10:00 a.m., local time, on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Bids will be opened and read aloud at 10:00 a.m., local time, on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the office of the City Clerk. Bids shall be made according to specifications prepared by the City of Woodhaven. Beginning on Monday, June 22, 2015, copies of the specifications and bid proposal form may be obtained at the Office of the City Clerk, 21869 West Road, Woodhaven, Michigan. Bids must be properly made out on the forms included with the specifications. All bids must be plainly marked on the envelope “RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION and DISPOSAL, YARD WASTE COLLECTION and DISPOSAL, & CURB SIDE RECYCLING SERVICE”. In addition, the Bidder should include the name of the company that is providing the proposal. Proposals submitted by telephone, fax transmission, or email will not be accepted. Bids are to be firm and cannot be withdrawn for sixty (60) days. The Bids are solicited to serve approximately 3900 residential customers (stops). The City of Woodhaven reserves the right to waive any informality in any bid proposal or to accept any bid proposal or to reject any or all bid proposals should it be deemed for its best interests to do so. The Bid proposal must be properly made out on the forms included with the applications. A certified or cashier’s check or bid bond (issued by a bonding company licensed in the State of Michigan) payable to the City of Woodhaven, Michigan in an amount equal to five percent (5.00%) of the first year base bid, shall be submitted with each bid. This amount shall be forfeited to the City of Woodhaven by the accepted bidder upon their failure to enter into a contract with the City within ten (10) days after the award of the contract. The bid bond and/or certified check will be returned to all bidders after the award of the contract. All quantities are estimated, the owner reserves the right to increase or decrease any of the quantities with no adjustment in unit price. The Accepted Bidder will be required to provide a satisfactory Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the first year contract base bid. All submitted bids shall remain firm for sixty (60) days after the Bid Opening Time, and shall not be withdrawn by the contractor once submitted. The City of Woodhaven reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers, in whole or in part, and to waive any informalities therein, when such waiver is in the interest of the City of Woodhaven, and to award the contract to other than the low bidder. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled at July 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Woodhaven City Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to explain the scope of services requested for bid and answer any questions regarding the bidding documents and project.
