Times Union, INVITATION FOR BID The Albany Housing Authority will receive separate sealed bids for the following project: Kitchen Upgrades (Rebid) at 230 Green St. Steamboat Square High Rise, Albany, New York 12202. This work includes, but is not limited to the following: Removal and replacement of kitchen cabinets, countertops and sinks in 59 apartments. Contract documents will be available on Tuesday June 23, 2015 after 2:00 pm, at the Albany Housing Authority, 200 South Pearl Street, Albany, New York 12202. A full set of bid documents is available for a non-refundable payment of $30.00, payable in cash, check or money order to the Albany Housing Authority. Proposals are to be submitted by personal delivery or registered mail, return receipt requested only, to the Modernization Office of the Albany Housing Authority, 200 South Pearl Street, Albany, New York 12202, not later than Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM, at which time they will be opened and read aloud. Address bids to the Owner, and deliver to the address given in the Invitation for Bid on or before the day and hour set for opening the bids. It is the sole responsibility of the bidder to see that his bid is received on time. At the discretion of the Local Housing Authority the addenda will be either mailed or transmitted via fax or e-mail. A Pre-Bid Conference and Site Inspection is scheduled for June 30, 2015. All interested bidders will meet at 1:00 PM at 230 Green St., Albany, NY. It is highly recommended that all interested bidders attend this meeting. Before submitting a bid, each bidder shall examine the Specifications carefully, shall read the Specifications and all other proposed Contract Documents. Each bidder shall fully inform himself prior to bidding as to the conditions and limitations under which the Work is to be performed, and shall include in his bid a sum to cover the cost of items necessary to perform the Work as set forth in the proposed Contract Documents. No allowance will be made to a bidder because of lack of such examination or knowledge. The submission of a bid will be considered as conclusive evidence that the bidder has made such examination. The Albany Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding. A certified check or Bank Draft payable to the Albany Housing Authority, US Government Bonds, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. Attention is directed to the Liquidated Damages provisions in the General Conditions, HUD-5370, Par. 33 of this Project Manual. Value of liquidated damages and date of required completion are given on the Bid Form. Surety companies executing bonds in conjunction with this contract must appear on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and be authorized to transact business in the state where the project is located. Attention is called to the provision for Section 3, Equal Employment Opportunity, Minority Business Enterprise Participation and payment of not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Project Manual. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening of bids without the consent of the Albany Housing Authority. The award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder.
