Woodland Daily Democrat, CITY OF WOODLAND SUMMARY OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDING PART A OF ARTICLE 1 OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE WOODLAND MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO CITY COUNCIL PROCEDURES On Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at 6 p.m., at the City Council Chambers, located at 300 First Street, second floor, Woodland, California 95695, the City Council of the City of Woodland will consider the adoption of an ordinance, which if adopted, would amend Part A of Article 1 of Chapter 2 of the Woodland Municipal Code related to city council procedures. If adopted, the proposed ordinance would amend various sections of the Municipal Code that are duplicative of state law including, among others, requirements under the Ralph M. Brown Act and the criteria and process for declaring a city council seat vacant. The proposed ordinance would also conform city council procedures to existing practices and avoid being unnecessarily prescriptive. Further, the proposed ordinance would amend the Municipal Code to delete and amend provisions regarding City operations, such as the timing for transmittal of staff reports to the city clerk, that are either inconsistent with current practice or do not need to be codified in the Municipal Code. The above summary constitutes the major highlights of the proposed Ordinance. A copy of the full text of the Ordinance is available at the City Clerk's office located at 300 First Street, Woodland, California 95695. Persons interested may appear before the City Council at the above date, place and time. If the City Council approves this Ordinance, the Ordinance will become effective thirty days after its passage. DATED: July 2, 2015 Ana B. Gonzalez, City Clerk
