Berkshires Marketplace, INVITATION TO BID (RE-OPENED) Lenox Public Schools Lenox Memorial Middle and High School: ROOM 17 RENOVATION Bids are solicited by the Lenox Public Schools for a renovation project at Lenox Memorial Middle and High School, Room 17, located at 197 East Street, Lenox, MA 01240. Specifically, to renovate a classroom space including: preparing the space for the installation of retractable partition wall (the partition wall itself to be installed and fitted by manufacturer), to provide new cabinetry and accessible kitchen appliances, to install a new unit ventilator/HVAC unit, to cut in and install a new entry door through an existing masonry wall. Bids will be received at Lenox Town Hall, Office of the Superintendent of Schools, 6 Walker Street, Lenox MA 01240 until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24 to be publicly opened and read aloud. The bid should include the cost of all materials and labor, excepting that of the partition wall unit and its installation. The estimated construction period is 14 days and the estimated cost of the project is $80,000. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security that is not less than 5% of the bid, payable to the Lenox Public Schools. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c. 149 using the M.G.L. c.30 ss 39M procedure. Bids are subject to prevailing wage requirements pursuant to M.G.L. c 149 ss 26 to 27H inclusive. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and eligible bidder. The Lenox Public Schools reserves the right to waive any informality in or reject any and all bids if it is in the public interest to do so. The desired project start date is August 31, 2015 with a total duration of no more than 10 weeks. Bidders are asked to estimate labor costs assuming a second shift (2:30 p.m. start time) work day.
