Berks-Mont Newspapers, NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT A TRUCK RESTRICTION ORDINANCE TO THE RESIDENTS OF MAXATAWNY TOWNSHIP: TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Supervisors of Maxatawny Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, at their regularly scheduled meeting to be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 beginning at 7:30 P.M. at the Maxatawny Township Municipal Building, 127 Quarry Road, Suite 1, Kutztown, PA shall consider for adoption a proposed Ordinance to adopt a Truck Restriction Ordinance. In summary, the Ordinance provides the following: AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MAXATAWNY TOWNSHIP, COUNTY OF BERKS AND COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA, PROHIBITING TRUCK TRAFFIC, EXCEPT FOR LOCAL DELIVERIES, ON SIEGFRIEDALE ROAD (T-831) FOR THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE ROADWAY WITHIN THE TOWNSHIP AND PROVIDING FINES AND VIOLATIONS THERETO. WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Maxatawny Township has the authority to post and regulate truck traffic on public township roads pursuant to Section 4902 and Section 6109 of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code; and WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Board of Supervisors of Maxatawny Township to prohibit truck traffic, except for local deliveries, on Siegfriedale Road (T-831); and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors have designated said Siegfriedale Road (T-831) to be established as a truck prohibition area within the limits of the Township pursuant to an engineering and traffic study conducted by Keystone Consulting Engineer’s, Inc., Maxatawny Township’s designated municipal engineer; and Copies of this Ordinance are available for inspection at the Township office during regular business hours.
