Daily Local, VALLEY TOWNSHIP CHESTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF VALLEY TOWNSHIP WILL HOLD A PUBLIC MEETING AT 7:30 P.M., ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2015, AT THE VALLEY TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL BUILDING, 890 WEST LINCOLN HIGHWAY, VALLEY TOWNSHIP, CHESTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AT WHICH TIME AND PLACE WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENACTMENT A PROPOSED ORDINANCE, THE TITLE AND SUMMARY OF WHICH ARE AS FOLLOWS: ORDINANCE NO.2015- ___ VALLEY TOWNSHIP CHESTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PARTICIPATION OF VALLEY TOWNSHIP IN THE PSATS UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION GROUP TRUST PURSUANT TO THE PENNSYLVANIA INTERGOVERNMENTAL COOPERATION LAW Proposed Ordinance No. 2015-____ would confirm Valley Township’s continued membership in the PSATS Unemployment Compensation Group Trust (“Trust”), which consists of governmental units from throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that have created an intergovernmental cooperative arrangement to permit participating employers to pool resources to satisfy unemployment compensation obligations in a cost effective manner. Proposed Ordinance No. 2015-____ includes provisions addressing the conditions that must be met to participate in and withdraw from the Trust, the organizational structure of the Trust, the appropriation of funds required for the operation of the Trust, the authority of the Trust to enter into contracts and take other actions appropriate to carry out the purposes of the Trust, and the effective date of Valley Township’s participation in the Trust. The proposed ordinance also provides for severability and confirms that it does not affect any rights or liabilities existing prior to the enactment of the ordinance. It also references the Trust Agreement that governs the operations of the Trust.
